Using the AI Assistant

Your dashboard includes Chase The Split AI — a rowing coach and data analyst that has your actual training data in front of it when it answers. It's not generic advice: it reads your numbers first.

What the AI knows about you

Every conversation starts with a live summary of your rowing data:

  • Total sessions, total distance, and total time on the erg
  • How many sessions beat your pace goal, and what percentage that is
  • Your average, best, and worst pace per 500m
  • Your average stroke rate
  • Your most recent sessions in detail — date, pace, stroke rate, distance, and watts

It also knows your personal pace goal, so its advice is aimed at your target, not a generic one. If you change your goal, the AI's coaching adjusts too.

What it's honest about

The AI only reasons from data you've imported. It doesn't see your heart rate zones, sleep, or anything outside Chase The Split — and if you ask about something that isn't in your data, it will say so rather than guessing.

Example prompts to try

The fastest way to get value from the AI is to ask specific questions. Try these:

  • "What's my pace trend over the last month?"
  • "Why do my faster sessions have higher stroke rates? Should I fix that?"
  • "Design a workout to help me get under my goal pace more consistently."
  • "Compare my last five sessions — which was the best and why?"
  • "How close am I to making my goal pace my everyday pace?"
  • "What should tomorrow's session look like based on what I did today?"

Tips for better answers

  • Be specific. "How was last week?" works, but "Did my stroke rate improve at similar paces last week?" works better.
  • Ask follow-ups. It remembers the conversation, so you can dig into an answer: "OK — turn that into a 4-week plan."
  • Use it after a sync. The AI reads your latest data, so sync your newest workouts first to get advice that includes them.
